The painting given the French title of “mur/pont“, or “wall/bridge”, links two not necessarily contradictory but symbolically often opposed concepts.
A wall has a protective meaning, suggesting isolation and defence, the suggestion of obstacle, interrupted contact. A bridge joins: two banks, two fortifications, two worlds. By linking, it enables the establishment of communication and exchange. My picture shows the moment in which connection, the point of a bridge, is achieved.
